House Rules

Lights
The majority of the lights are on labeled dimmer switches. To change the brightness, swipe your finger up or down the switch pad, or turn off and on by the standard toggle; up for lights to the last dimmed position or down to turn off. Double tap on to bring lights to full brightness. Accessory switches (such as at the bottom of the stairs) only control the on and off for the dimmer switch it's paired with. The lamps are also on dimmers. Please note the controllers placed near the lamps base.
AC / Heat
The thermostat is located in the hall between the main bedroom and living room.
Ceiling Fans
The fans, both inside and outside, have a standard wall switch and a remote control situated close to the switch. We recommend that you use the remote to control on/ off, fan speed and, if available, the light.
Living Room Shades
The shades for the high windows in the living room are controlled by a remote that is stationed to the right of the front doors looking out.
Chargers
There are surge suppressor power blocks with USB A & C charging outlets to plug your cables into on each nightstand and at the desk. Please use your own cables.

Electronics

Apple TVs

The Apple TV remote is the primary control for both the living room and bedroom TVs. The Apple TVs are pre-loaded with many of the standard and popular streaming applications. You will need to use your own streaming service accounts to access the content. Each App will guide you through their login procedure.

Apple TV & Remote User Guide

Using Apple's Password AutoFill feature

The Living Room TV
The primary control (on/off, volume & navigation) for the Living Room TV is the Apple TV remote. Click on the top right power button to "wake" the whole system. The Apple TV is connected to HDMI 1.
The Soundbar

The soundbar should be on and ready to use with the TV, with the volume controlled by the Apple TV remote. However, if you do not hear the audio from the soundbar, or you do not see any lights on in the front middle of the soundbar, you can press either the power button atop the soundbar or use the power button on Polk Audio remote. Two white lights on the front of the soundbar specifies that the soundbar input is set to TV.

A single blue light on the front of the soundbar specifies that the soundbar input is set to Bluetooth (for the phonograph).

To change between inputs, you can either use the buttons atop the soundbar or the Polk Audio remote.

Record Player
Change the Soundbar's input to Bluetooth, either with the button atop the soundbar itself, or with the Polk Audio remote. A blue light will appear in the front middle of the soundbar. Load an album onto the turntable. Click the "Start" button.
The Bedroom TV & Soundbar
Similar to the living room TV, the primary control (for on/off and navigation) is the Apple TV remote. However, with this TV, you will need to use the Bose remote to control volume (an issue we are aiming to resolve). The TV is on a swivel mount for adjusting the viewing angle.
